Every year, we look forward to attending the SC22! It is a chance for the technology industry to get together in person to renew relationships, build new friendships, and share the incredible work that is being advanced by OEM HPC manufacturers around the world.

This year’s event was especially exciting as we were privileged to unveil our CIARA TRIDENT server line in conjunction with our partner, Submer. Not only does the new product line deliver industry-leading performance, density and scalability, it does offers best-in-class sustainability by significantly reducing the power and cooling requirements of our customers’ compute and storage workloads.

By submerging the CIARA TRIDENT in Submer’s SmartPod Tank, we were able to demonstrate the significant performance improvements and cost-savings over a traditional air-cooled platform. Our HPC-focused solutions harness the power of Immersion cooling technology to allow you to get to grips with the demand for higher workloads while reducing your impact on the environment and OPEX. CIARA TRIDENT is specifically designed and manufactured for optimized liquid flow within single-phase immersion cooling which both decreases energy consumption, decreases water consumption, and maximizes heat capture leading to a reduction in carbon emissions by up to 40%.

Our 360 immersion cooling solution  provides a range of benefits for data centers from:

  1. Sustainable and eco-friendly solution: The CIARA TRIDENT is an immersion born design that optimizes liquid flow within single-phase immersion cooling which both decreases energy consumption, decreases water consumption, and maximizes heat capture leading to a reduction in carbon emissions by up to 40%. Paired with Submer’s immersion tank solutions, there is a 95% reduction in OPEX costs.
  2. Ultimate performance and density: industry-leading performance and density (up to 240 CPU per 42U tank/pod);
  3. Cost-effective: reduces compute and storage total cost of ownership by up to 33%;
  4. Complete suite of products specifically designed for immersion: CIARA TRIDENT portfolio will include a full spectrum of immersion ready servers and storage including standard AC and OCP-based solutions that fit both 19” and 21’’ submerged tank and pod vendors;

Launch your sustainable data center when you need it

We also met with Nautilus Data Technologies, an industry leader in sustainable data center development. Both Nautilus Data Technologies and Hypertec are strongly committed to sustainable data center technologies and pairing the most efficient high-performance data centers and the most effective energy-reducing immersion cooling solution was the most logical outcome for both companies. This partnership will help customers to save energy without sacrificing performance.

Future Technology

Hypertec was really excited to be able to showcase the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and the 4th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors to share the spotlight with our immersion cooling solution.

4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors

Modern workloads continue to evolve in complexity and end customers evaluate performance against real world application performance, evaluating the complete solution. With built-in, industry-defining acceleration bolstered by the latest DDR5, PCIe Gen 5 platform technologies, 4th Gen Intel Xeon processors are expected to deliver unmatched customer value for AI, cloud, analytics, storage, networking, security and HPC workloads.

These processors are designed for real-world applications, increased performance, power-efficient computing and strong security, as well as being optimized for overall total cost of ownership. From AI to traditional high-performance computing to analytics to networking and storage, and for deployments ranging from cloud to edge, this new technology is part of a strong and rich Intel history of developing platform features and capabilities that lead the industry forward, that focus on real-world customer problems.

Moving forward, now that 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor volume SKUs have met product release qualifications and the company is starting to ramp-up deployment, Intel – along with its partners and customers – will be hosting a launch event on January 10th, 2023.

4th Gen AMD EPYC™ Processors

The AMD Designed to power various data center workloads that require a large amount of data processing – perfect for HPC or deep learning tasks.

Based on a 5nm Zen 4 CPU architecture, this last generation of processors increases the performance by 14% compared to the Zen 3 architecture.

The 4th Gen AMD EPYC™ processor or “Genoa” comes with the new SP5 socket, up to 96 cores and will support DDR5 system memory bringing higher bandwidth and better power efficiency.
