Hypertec Sells Hyperscale Data Center Operations to Vantage Data Centers

Hypertec will be further investing in the growth of its technology product and digital health business units as well as new high growth verticals

Montreal, November 20, 2020 – Hypertec, an end-to-end global provider of technology products and value-added services, announces today that it has completed the sale of its hyperscale data center and colocation business assets to Vantage Data Centers, a leading global provider of hyperscale data center campuses.

This transaction is exclusively related to Hypertec’s data center and colocation operations, which will now be branded under Vantage Data Centers.

As part of its continuing growth strategy, Hypertec plans to significantly increase its investments in research and development, artificial intelligence and green technologies as a means to enhance its product and service offerings to its targeted customers in the financial services, healthcare, media and communication sectors, as well as to optimize and increase the efficiency of its own operations.

“The velocity at which digital transformation is occurring across the globe is unprecedented, making our portfolio of cutting-edge products and services more necessary than ever for the markets and customers we serve,” said Robert Ahdoot, Hypertec’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer.   “This sale to Vantage allows us to provide the necessary resources to propel our fast growing technology solution and digital health businesses as well as to pursue new synergistic growth opportunities.”

The acquisition of Hypertec’s data center and colocation operations enables Vantage to continue capitalizing on Montreal’s hyperscale growth, given its access to scalable, renewable energy and attractive power costs.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the contributions and dedication of our data center colocation team over these last years,” continued Mr. Ahdoot. “I wish them well and am confident that the business is in good hands under the leadership of Vantage.”

RBC Capital Markets acted as exclusive financial advisor to Hypertec, and BCF acted as legal counsel.
