Hypertec to offer the new 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors with CIARA TRIDENT immersion servers
Newest scalable processor series—featuring built-in accelerators for fast-growing workloads to drive AI, data analytics, networking & 5G, storage, and HPC—can be sustainably cooled for reduced power consumption through immersion cooling in the next era of data center evolution
Montréal—January 11th 2023—Hypertec, a global end-to-end technology and solutions provider, today announced its continued strategic partnership with Intel, as the company launches its newest processor line, the new 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. This new processor series represents a major evolution in datacenter performance with a microarchitecture accommodating up to 60 cores, with 64 gigabytes of high-bandwidth HBM2e memory and the most built-in accelerators on the market. With the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, Hypertec will be able to offer its customers two-to-three times performance gains across various HPC workloads in its 360-custom designed CIARA TRIDENT immersion servers.
Hypertec already offers unprecedented ultra-high density compute performance with up to 288 CPUs per 48U (144 nodes/18,432 cores) engineered to accommodate any next-gen CPU, GPU, and FPGA cards. Leveraging the additional power and performance in the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor series, Hypertec customers can realize more efficient business outcomes across its market verticals—Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Retail, Digital consumer web services, Media and Entertainment, Financial and Cloud services.
Leading performance with the most built-in accelerators
The 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors are designed to accelerate performance across the fastest-growing workloads that businesses depend on. Intel and Hypertec will enable higher levels of efficiency and performance with new built-in accelerators to deliver value across targeted workflows. The latest security compliance with Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) adds security features for a zero-trust security strategy—unlocking new opportunities for business collaboration and insights—even with sensitive or regulated data.
Sustainable liquid immersion cooling for demanding datacenter workloads
To abate heat production from this new processor, Hypertec has developed the first immersion-born server platform, purpose-built to be immersed in a tank to mitigate high heat output and power consumption. In collaboration with Intel and third-party cooling technology partners, Hypertec is paving the way for customers to utilize immersion cooling technology to reduce server farm footprint, power consumption, and ultimately meet global mandates to reduce carbon emissions through reduced electricity usage.
The new Hypertec CIARA TRIDENT immersion server is the perfect ultra-high density, scalable system that meets the evolving demands of critical HPC workloads. At the forefront of immersion cooling technology, the CIARA TRIDENT server is designed for single-phase immersion cooling technology, providing flexible support for up to 4 hot-swappable double socket nodes in a 2U chassis with up to 4 TB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory per node. Once integrated with the new Intel 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, data centers will be able to achieve high performance while maintaining ESG metrics and managing thermal design power.
“The 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors represent a key building block for our latest generation of server and storage products—including our newly released immersion-cooled CIARA TRIDENT servers,” said Jonathan Ahdoot, President of Hypertec HTS. “This latest generation of server and storage solutions will enable us to deliver a 360-custom solution to meet the increasing demands for computing power from our customers in the Financial Services and Media and Entertainment segments—while significantly reducing their carbon footprint,” added Ahdoot.
