Hypertec’s 2024: A Year to Celebrate, Innovate, and Look Ahead

As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on a year marked by milestones, innovation, and exciting new beginnings. From celebrating 40 years of Hypertec to launching transformative products, building strong partnerships, and welcoming fresh leadership, this year has set the stage for even bigger things in 2025.

Celebrating 40 Years and a New Home

This year, we proudly celebrated four decades of Hypertec, a testament to the trust and collaboration of our clients, partners, and employees. We also announced our future headquarters in LaSalle, along the Lachine Canal—a project that will transform a grey industrial zone into a modern and sustainable green industrial zone, balancing environmental protection with economic growth.

Hypertec Cloud Takes Flight

The pivot of Hypertec Cloud this spring marked a bold step into scalable AI and HPC solutions. In September, at the ALL IN Conference in Montréal, we announced plans to deploy up to 100,000 GPUs by early 2025 to meet the surging demand for AI infrastructure across North America.

Hypertec Cloud’s momentum continued with our partnership with Together AI, co-building a turbocharged cluster featuring 36,000 NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 GPUs to deliver the speed and performance needed for today’s AI workloads. A big announcement was made during the SC24 Conference in November.

Innovating for the Future

Our focus on innovation in 2024 drove the launch of five new products throughout the year:

• TRIDENT iG series, an immersion-born GPU server line designed for extreme density, sustainability and performance for AI workloads.

• TRIDENT iS515R-G6, the world’s first and only immersion-born storage server.

• ORION CFX410 server: Optimized for HPC and high-frequency trading.

• ORION HFX410 refresh: Featuring AMD FPGA accelerators.

• CRIUS Notebook: Powered by Intel® 13th Gen processors, delivering performance and affordability for businesses and the public sector.

Our commitment to sustainable solutions earned us Intel’s Best Strategic OEM Partner in Canada award at the 2024 Americas Partner Awards, recognizing our pioneering work in immersion technology.

Strengthening Partnerships and Community

Collaboration remained at the heart of 2024. We strengthened long-standing relationships with partners like Intel and Submer, while forging exciting new collaborations with innovators like Together AI. At major industry events, including SC24 and SIGGRAPH, we showcased solutions, shared insights, and built valuable connections across the technology landscape.

Closer to home, we supported impactful initiatives such as the LEUCAN Hockey Fights Cancer Event with the Montreal Canadians and proudly contributed as a partner to the Zone Agtech. The Québec government’s $42M investment in the Zone Agtech and CIEL research center represents a significant step toward fostering sustainable innovation—an effort we are proud to support alongside other key stakeholders.

New Leadership, New Energy

This year marked a significant leadership transition. Simon Ahdoot stepped into the role of CEO, bringing fresh focus and direction to Hypertec’s next chapter. Robert Ahdoot, co-founder and outgoing CEO, assumed the position of Executive Chairman of the Board, ensuring strategic continuity.

Adding further strength to the team, Don Schlidt joined as President of Hypertec’s Hardware Technology Solutions division, bringing extensive experience to drive new growth opportunities.
